On October 8th, the local branch of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) presented the Sunrise Rotary Award and a sizeable cheque to Sue Munro, Chair, Citizens Against Melrose Quarry (CAMQ) in recognition of her concern, leadership and ongoing work to ensure that the citizens of Tyendinaga Township continue to benefit from a safe and reliable drinking water supply. The RNAO chapter is also pleased to acknowledge the support and involvement of the Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) in assisting CAMQ safeguard the Melrose water supply which is sourced from an aquifer deemed highly vulnerable by Quinte Conservation.
